The Reality Conundrum

Reality isn’t fixed — our relationship with it is

Reality is not a single fixed picture.

It is filtered through every mind that encounters it.

Two people can experience the same event and walk away with completely different stories — both internally “true.”

New information doesn’t just update our reality; it can disrupt it.

It can force us to admit that something we were certain about was incomplete or even wrong.

That moment is uncomfortable.

So we often avoid it.

We protect our version of reality because:

• it feels safer

• it preserves our identity

• it keeps our world predictable

The cost is that we stop learning.

A more flexible relationship with reality sounds like:

• “This is how I currently see things — and I’m willing to adjust.”

• “My perception is real to me, but not the only possibility.”

• “New information is not an attack; it’s an opportunity to see more.”

This isn’t about doubting yourself constantly.

It’s about holding your beliefs with enough humility that growth remains possible.

Reality is complex.

We won’t ever see all of it.

But we can choose to live in a way that keeps our mind open, our ego relaxed, and our curiosity alive.
